COUNSELLING KINESIOLOGY
Counselling Kinesiology helps to identify the 'emotional reference points' that are causing our resistance to change.
Counselling Kinesiology (CK), developed by Gordon and Debra Dickson, is a synthesis of mainstream counselling techniques combined with Kinesiology. It is a systematic approach to identifying the emotional patterns that cause unwanted feelings to persist and is aimed at helping people to find long-term solutions to emotionally stressful issues.
It can help individuals and couples in areas such as relationships, parenting, career and life decisions and with issues such as anxiety, depression, grief, low self esteem and self-sabotaging patterns.
CK acknowledges that change is a natural part of life but we often find ourselves resistant to change due to feeling out-of-control, overwhelmed or unsafe. The root cause of this resistance is often found in the attitudes and belief systems we have formed as a result of our past experiences. These past experiences are stored in our subconscious brain as 'emotional reference' points which we use to determine how we will respond to issues in the present. By revisiting and resolving these emotional reference points, we can release resistance and successfully navigate change, moving forward with ease and confidence.
What to Expect:
CK involves three components:
1) Talk Therapy - to identify the problem, goal, possible solutions and actions
2) Emotional Stress Release - using Kinesiology testing to identify the emotional reference point and Kinesiology techniques to resolve the emotional stress pattern, this might include working with the Inner Child
3) Integration & Implementation - using practical exercises and techniques to implement the changes
