Breaking the Trance of Disempowerment

How to Remember that YOU are in Charge of your Life

One of my favourite clients once revealed to me her complete bewilderment at why people found it so hard to lose weight. She’d say: “It’s not that hard…see that food there, just don’t put it in your mouth.”  Simple.

…isn’t it?

On the surface, everything is simple. There’s always a logical solution. There’s always a sound strategy. There’s always a common-sense decision. There’s always a straightforward choice you can make to move toward what you want, and away from what you don’t.

And yet, here you are.

Bogged down in data, hamstrung by over-thinking, paralysed by self-doubt, entangled in your stories of self-sabotage and completely overwhelmed by the futility of your attempts to break free.

Time and again, it seems that the human mind is solely in the business of making the simplest of things complex.

Kinesiology is a lifeline for many people. Maybe it has been for you. Here is a powerful tool that enables you to pinpoint where a cellular memory or belief program is running your life. Where your emotional reactions and habitual behaviours are derailing and hijacking your progress. And in a shoulder-dropping sigh of relief, it can explain why sometimes, things aren’t that simple.

If you’ve ever been ‘triggered’, you know exactly what I mean.

You know when something has pushed a button. A program has been activated. An emotional reaction is in full swing. A cellular memory is being ‘replayed’. And while you’re in ‘replay’ mode, you have no access to the logical, to the rational, to the simple.

Instead, you feel helpless. You feel stuck. You feel at the mercy of another person, an event or your environment.

In replay mode, your consciousness has been taken over by a program. And when you’re here, you do not, no matter what you do, have access to conscious decision-making. You forget the simplicity of making a different choice. You forget your power.  You forget you're in charge.

Why do we forget?

Your cellular memories hold a great deal of power. The energy encased in a fear-based memory has the capacity to keep you looping in irrational and destructive patterns of behaviour indefinitely, impervious to the ‘simple’ and logical.

Stephen Wolinsky describes this quite brilliantly as a ‘trance.’  We literally enter a different state of consciousness. The ‘Observer’ part of us enters a ‘wakeful sleep’ and allows the automatic responses of the Inner Child to take over. Not only are the emotional reactions of the Inner Child running the show, but the Inner Child worldview is also one of feeling powerless to its environment, people, situations and events. If you’re continually operating in a trance based on your Inner Child’s experience of the world, it is highly likely you’re operating in a trance of disempowerment. And if you’re stuck in a trance, it’s no wonder why you forget that you’re in charge of your life.

Reclaiming your empowered Decision-Maker breaks the trance.

When you’re in a trance you FORGET that YOU ALONE have the power to break free from the trance.

You may be able to see the trance, you might be aware of your triggers, hell, you might even watch your crazy reactions and behaviours as if you’re having an out-of-body experience. But all in all, you might still feel powerless to choose something different.  

One of the reasons Kinesiology is so empowering is that it gives you access to the root cause of your problems, enables you to discharge the energy of your cellular memories, and rewire your faulty thinking. You are essentially breaking free of your trances and restoring your ability to make conscious (and simple!) decisions.

However, it is also possible that ‘going to therapy’ might subtly disempower you. While it undoubtedly helps you to ‘break free’ from your trances, it can also perpetuate the illusion that you can’t break free from a trance on your own. It might keep you in dependency or have you believing that you must ‘do the work’ before you can be freed.

But what if there is a whole other level of empowerment available to you?

By stepping into the role of Observer and becoming your own therapist – or trance-breaker. By reclaiming your power to choose to have your awareness reside in the Observer, not the memory or program.

I believe that therapy is not enough. It’s imperative that you find a way of cultivating your ability to be the Observer. To train your awareness to reside in that which is beyond the mechanisms of the mind. To be able to see your reactions and patterns without being entranced by them.  

Kinesiology self-testing is the predominant way I have learned to step into the role of the Observer.

Something automatically happens when you pick up a pendulum.

You announce: “I am in charge”

You decide that you have the power to decide.

You break the trance.

Simple.

You’re not searching or researching. You’re not waiting for advice or permission. You're not using strategies or tactics. 

You are simply taking responsibility for your Sovereignty. You’re choosing to operate in the Observer and not the program. And when you do this, you stop feeding the illusion that you are not in charge of your life. You transition to a whole new level of self-leadership.

When you step into the role of Observer, you are stepping into your I AM ESSENCE. You stop allowing the trances to run your life. You move beyond the level of your programming and merge with your Divine Self. Your Power.

I believe that it’s no longer enough to be capable of identifying how and why your past reactions are derailing, hijacking, or sabotaging you. You must have a robust and self-sufficient way of breaking free from your trances. You must honour your Energy System and realise that YOU are it’s Master. Every cell in your being must know to answer to you and only you. Your system has been entranced by outdated programs and has answered to other authorities for far too long. It’s time for you to reclaim your power, live in your ESSENCE and take charge of your life.
